SAN Storage Administrator - CISCO/EMC Fibre Channel SAN Infrastructure - Global Investment Bank - London - CONTRACT (Market Rate)

SAN STORAGE ADMINISTRATOR - CISCO/EMC FIBRE CHANNEL SAN INFRASTRUCTURE - GLOBAL INVESTMENT BANK - CONTRACT - LONDON
PTS Resourcings' client urgently requires an experienced SAN Storage Administrator with around 3 years minimum supporting and administering large production SAN Infrastructures.

Your key responsibilities are to:

  • Configure the environment in preparation for FC or IP based replication as well as the deployment of a new Datacentres
  • Work with the SDC and Storage Project Team to fulfil requests related to migration activity of data, hosts and storage.
  • Have knowledge or 3Par, EMC, NetApp and Cisco hardware and the configuration of these technologies.
  • Manage, maintain and enhance the SAN disk and Fibre Channel switched network infrastructure.
  • Assist other team members where appropriate in managing other storage infrastructure (NAS and CAS systems).
  • Manage SAN capacity and performance using appropriate reporting monitoring tools.
  • Ongoing evaluation and analysis of the storage infrastructure to provide optimum performance.
  • Liaise with appropriate application development representatives to optimise value to the business.
  • Liaise with third party vendor operations management.
  • Ensure the business area conducts its activity in accordance with all relevant external regulators.
  • Ensure compliance with the regulatory and statutory requirements and compliance policies and procedures affecting the business area. 
  • Ensure the business unit operates in accordance with stipulated risk management policies and procedures, covering market risk, credit risk and operational risk.
Your background will include:

  • Fibre Channel SAN Infrastructure (Cisco): high end Fibre channel Directors (Cisco MDS 9513 and 9222i for FCIP) in a Core/Edge topology and EMC SAN Management software (eg Cisco Fabric Manager, SRDF, TimeFinder, SYMCLI including symconfigure)
  • SAN Storage (EMC) infrastructure: EMC DMX, Clariion including CX-3, Centera and associated software (EMC Control Centre and Work Load Analyser, StorageScope, Navisphere, SANscreen) and 3Par
  • NetApp software (ONTAP 7.x, Clustered failover, FlexVol, SnapMirror, SnapShot, DFM)
  • Previous roles migration Platform/Operating Systems administration (Windows or Unix)

PTS Resourcings' client urgently require 4 (FOUR) Part-Time Service Desk/1st Line Technical Support Analysts to compliment their expanding team. You will be required to work a 4 hour shift, Monday - Friday, and there is a degree of flexibility as to which hours you work.
You will be:
*   Processing a high number of support calls, helping customers with a consistently high level of care
*   Providing 1st line telephone or remote technical support for Front and Back Office Banking staff
*   Accurately logging faults on their system (Remedy)
*   Working with other teams to resolve all issues
*   Make sure all documentation is accurate, amending old or writing new standards and forwarding them around the team.

You must have:

*   1+ years experience working on an IT Service Desk supporting 1000+ customers
*   Full knowledge of supporting MS Office (including Outlook) and Windows XP desktop

Your Key responsibilities will be:

Risk Systems Distributed Computing Developer - Investment Bank - London – CONTRACT – £450-£500/Day

PTS’s Client, a leading Investment Bank are in need of a RISK SYSTEMS DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING DEVELOPER to work on a strategic change programme to re-engineer the Counterparty Exposure calculation, which involves changes to the technical infrastructure to improve scalability of the data management and pricing frameworks.

A consultant with distributed computing skills is required to strengthen the existing in house development team, the consultant’s expertise helping to ensure that the on-going developments follow the best practises for a highly distributed architecture and that the resulting developments are tuned to get the best overall output while retaining stability and reliability.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- University degree (we are looking for a good degree in a top tier university) in any quantitative discipline (maths, computer science, engineering)
- Or equivalent professional experience

Computing Skills Required:
- Excellent software coding, documentation and analysis skills
- Demonstrable excellent knowledge of Platform symphony
- Demonstrable good knowledge of C++ and Java server side
- Demonstrable knowledge of Oracle Coherence
- Good knowledge of Distributed File Systems
- Good knowledge of Linux platform
- Good database skills preferable: T-SQL

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:
- Proven experience in large scale system (diagnosis, testing, tuning)
