This role will be based in Livingston however some travel to other locations throughout the UK may be required. PTS Resourcing's Client, a Leading Global Investment Banking URGENTLY require TWO EXPERIENCED APPLICATIONS PROFILERS / WINDOWS XP ADMINISTRATORS to work in their busy team which has been built (bar one Contractor) by myself.

One of my Contractors will be conducting the interviews along with the permanent Project Manager, and they have specifically asked for suitably skilled individuals to compliment the team. Triage Defect Manager – Financial – Edinburgh – £500 per day - CONTRACT

Triage Defect Manager needed for a large financial client in Edinburgh for a 1-year contract. As Triage Manager you will manage the handling of problems, incidents and defects in source location with possible impact on the target location. You will coordinate resolution activities on disputed defects originating in the target location where the origin of the defects are not clearly defined, or where resolution work expands across different teams such as Infrastructure, shared services, applications and third parties.

We are looking for people with defect management experience and the ability to define and implement a triage management process. Large programme experience will be very beneficial and you must be able to work with cross functional teams and management. Project management skills and Quality Centre experience would be very advantageous.

You must have excellent communication skills, good presentation skills, Very good analytical skills and, ideally have a project management certification. The role holder will be responsible for the following activities:

- Define and implement a triage management process.
- Define and maintain a WBS and project plan relating to triage management activities.
- Setup triage related meetings with all stakeholders involved.
- Coordinate the impact analysis done by the migration/implementation and test teams on existing problems, incidents and defects (open ones) that originate and have been identified in the target location prior to migration activities.
- Ensure the collection and proper logging of problems, incidents and defects that are open in the source location prior to the migration activities.
- Coordinate the gathering and analysis of historical problems, incidents and defects (closed) located in the source location which will help in the creation of a Problem, Incident and defect historical Knowledge Database to be used for expediting in the identification of the origin of defects discovered in the target location and in their resolution.
- Integrate into the knowledge database critical problems, incidents and defects that are being discovered and resolved in the target location, thus helping on the resolution of recurring defects by utilizing existing resolution information stored in the database.
- Mediate among teams to ensure proper assignment and resolution of complex and/or disputed defects.

The successful candidate will:

·       Liaise with the BI Manager to produce a standard Project Initiation Document (PID) for those projects on the Pipeline nearing commencement; provide a confirmed starting point for the more detailed scope statement, requirements, timeline expectation, stakeholder matrix, high-level estimate validation, and so on.
·         Ensure the BI Manager has all information necessary regarding any new initiatives such that they can readily be discussed at Pipeline Prioritisation Committee meetings, work with the BI Manager to pre-empt and prepare for likely scenarios and questions that may arise as it relates to the prioritisation of new requests within the active change portfolio.

Essential

Role/Responsibilities

Cisco Network Engineer (CCNP) – Dundee – up to £40K - PERMANENT

Cisco Network Engineer urgently required for a full-time position based in Dundee. You will be working for a leading online technologies services provider, you will be part of a team responsible for maintaining the core network, implementing new access solutions for customers and designing new networks. As part of the role you will liaise with customers to understand requirements, produce Work Proposals and document any work undertaken. The Cisco Network Engineer will have good knowledge of new RFCs and RIPE policies.  

Responsibilities include:
  • Ensure the optimal operation of ISP Core Network through
    • Good understanding on monitoring systems and SNMP protocol
    • Gather symptoms
    • Isolate fault
    • Rectify fault
  • Troubleshoot customer connectivity problems
  • Design optimal network architectures for new and existing customers
