Application Support Developer – Livingston – Permanent - £35K to £37K


PTS’ client are looking for an experienced Application Support Developer to work in a small team to analyse and resolve issues relating to Click and IFS packaged software applications.

Key responsibilities;

·         Dealing with software faults raised either by users calling in with problems or by tickets being automatically generated in the system.
·         Understanding the root cause of faults by first identifying which function, or "message", was not performing correctly at the time of the fault
·         Performing tasks by writing basic queries in PL/SQL or TOAD to run across the Oracle databases
·         Liaising with the relevant software vendor in order for them to rewrite the affected section of code to resolve the problem
·         Working closely with internal departments, both technical and non-technical, in order to understand the business context of the applications used and to help users directly with technical problems

Essential

-       Proven experience of supporting Oracle-based applications.
-       Experience of using PL/SQL and TOAD to run queries.
-       Experience of  Windows  Servers
-       Experience of Unix / Linux  Servers  is also preferred but not essential
  
Desired

-       OO Programming experience / knowledge.
-       Working knowledge of Click or IFS.application suite
-       Practical knowledge of Click or IFS application suite.
-       Practical knowledge of MQ
-       Practical knowledge of Websphere
-       Practical knowledge of .net
