Web Developer - PERMANENT

My client, based in Hertfordshire, is urgently seeking a permanent Web Developer to expand their business focussed development team.

The successful applicant will become part of the internal project team to develop new websites and services for the organisation, being allocated responsibilities within specific developments.  Working in a small group, the postholder will be required to code and test new and enhanced Web / Internet services.  They will also support internal and external teams to deliver information and services to their users, as well as investigating and resolving any technical issues.
To be successful in your application, you should possess the following key skills / experience:
1.     Understanding and experience of core Internet technologies, including common web development languages and HTML / CSS;
2.     A high standard of general computer literacy, and familiarity with a range of commonly-used Internet and business-desktop software;
3.     Demonstrable ability to transfer previous experience to unfamiliar software and new tasks;
4.     A methodical approach to the planning of development, testing and other systematic tasks;
5.     Demonstrable experience working as a member of a development team to meet documented specifications and planned project schedules;
6.     Proven ability to work unsupervised and prioritise a range of tasks in accordance with the team's assigned objectives;
7.     Clear ability to communicate technical and non-technical issues effectively with colleagues, including senior staff, customers and other external users.
Additional skills desired for this position include the following:
1.     Experience of Web development in ColdFusion;
2.     Experience of developing web services and XML messaging;
3.     Experience of working with mid-range content management systems, such as Percussion Rhythmyx;
4.     Experience of working with Web sites driven by leading customer relationship management systems;
5.     Experience of applying usability and accessibility principles in web design.
