Wintel Technical Analyst – Investment Bank – Edinburgh – Contract - £330-£370/Day

PTS's Client, a High Profile Investment Bank requires a WINTEL TECHNICAL ANALYST to work on a Data Centre Programme that is currently running.   The ideal person should have previous experience of Data Centre migrations moving large, complex environments with both internal and external interfaces/connections.  Prior experience of working within an Investment Banking / Financials environment is beneficial but not essential.

You must have excellent Technical and Business/Systems knowledge:
- Excellent Windows w2k/w2k3 server skills
- AD, TCP/IP, DNS, WINS and Windows clustering
- HP rack & blade server hardware configuration and management
- Experience of HBA Fibre channel storage configuration
- Good knowledge of VMWare ESX / Virtual Centre implementations
- Good understanding of multi-tier enterprise application installation and configuration

- InfoMan, MS Excel, Technical support experience, general application experience

You will need to have excellent Consultancy knowledge that covers all meetings, discussions, challenges, documentation and data gathering.  Planning understanding involvement in defining plans and creating SOEs, Migration / Build awareness including all storage related tasks in preparing the target and source environments, including any target infrastructure builds and configuration. 

An understanding of Testing covering all defined testing, potential refreshes and dress rehearsals, aswell knowledge of Implementing the actual deployment from source to target and necessary configuration including data migration and Support of the Resolution of Wintel related issues post migration/warranty.
