IT Consultant / Engineering Manager urgently required by a Global IT Consultancy for a permanent position in our Hong Kong office. PTS Managed Services is a subsidiary of PTS Consulting, specialising in providing Enterprise grade IT solutions to SME financial and non-financial institutions such as Fund Managers, Private Equity Institutions, legal, accounting, insurance etc. through the provision of Project Management, IT Consulting, IT Systems Integration and post-project support. Originally founded in London in 1983, PTS Consulting now has offices in most of the major global financial hubs including London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney and Dubai.
PTS MS has developed its outsourced IT solutions through a convergence of our IT and Project Management skills and experiences. As a result of our planned and continuing expansion programme, PTS MS is now seeking to employ an IT Consultant / Engineering Manager with a rich background of IT experience to join its rapidly growing division. This individual will be responsible for ensuring technical excellence in the delivery of IT solutions to our demanding clients in Hong Kong and Shanghai. He/she should have a passion for technology combined with business-awareness and proven technical skills. This exciting and dynamic role will give the individual opportunity to work on a variety of client projects including new infrastructure and applications build-outs, upgrades, migrations and enhancement, tuning and refresh of existing environments. Key Responsibilities: - Provide technical expertise and support services to PTS sales staff and clients from pre-sales support, design, project inception, implementation and business-as-usual operation. - Gather technical requirements from clients and turn them into value engineered, risk-averse solutions. - Compile detailed bill of materials and develop budgets through working with distributors and resellers. - Lead the engineering team in delivery of systems integration tasks including server, networking and voice system deployment. - Coaching and training of the engineering team to develop their skill sets. - Vendor liaison and management. Key Requirements: - Senior Engineer or IT Manager with at least 7-10 years’ experience in provision of IT implementation and support services, preferably within the financial services sector and/or working for a systems integrator. - Strong communicator with proven experience managing end user and key stakeholder issues, ITIL training and experience a definite plus. - Top quality interpersonal and leadership skills expected including excellent spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin skills are a plus. - A broad knowledge of all of the current technologies, with an in-depth and HANDS ON experience of at least three of the following technologies and systems: - TCP/IP Networks configuration, WAN/LAN/Firewalls technology. - Windows Servers, Active Directory, Exchange. - PABX/IP Telecommunications. - Virtual infrastructure. - Data Replication/Backup/Archiving. - VPN/Remote Access technologies (e.g. Citrix). - NAS/SAN technologies. - Wireless technology. - PDA/Blackberry technologies. - Market Data Applications and Feeds. - SharePoint, SQL Server. - VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or higher is a MUST. - Additional technical qualifications in IT systems beneficial with some Microsoft, and/or Cisco certifications desirable.
