IT Business Analyst urgently needed for a 1-year fixed-term contract in Central London. You will be working for a leading Law Firm with a rich history where you will analyse business activity and help decide whether new systems or procedures will improve productivity. Key responsibilities include:
- Integrate with the business to identify employee process issues, prepare project plans / feasibility reports including costs, highlighting issues and identify solutions for improvements and make recommendations to senior management.
- For proposals that are to be implemented, prepare implementation plans, plan the communication process, identify potential hurdles and how these will be overcome and be managed throughout implementation. Project manage as required with support of IT management.
- Play an integral role in improving working practices for fee-earners and secretaries in conjunction with the IT training team e.g. identify training needs to address areas such as: recording own time, using the calendar, using the digital dictation function correctly, using the tasks lists etc and plan how to address these needs.
- Organise the IT User Group and / or project workshops and focus groups, ensuring all major upgrades or system changes are demonstrated and communicated to the group. Also facilitate discussions, gathering feedback on pain points and enhancement requests.
- In line with IT policy, support the IT team and the training team to successfully implement new technology within the firm. Perform process, data and business analysis as directed. Document system configuration needs.
- Work with the Head of IT and Operations Manager to discuss business system enhancements for the current business systems to meet the changing needs of the business.
- Test systems which have been developed or purchased to ensure they meet the business needs and requirements which have been gathered.
- Play a supportive role in advising IT staff on the implication of new initiatives and ideas with current applications from users’ perspective.
Technical Skills and Experience Required:
- Business Analysis experience, ideally with a law firm or other professional services environment.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of all Microsoft Office 2010 applications and Windows 7.
- Strong project management experience using a structured methodology.
- Experience in supporting and / or managing one or more of the following would be advantageous:
- Document Management systems for example OpenText (Hummingbird)
- Document Management v5.2 including Matter Centric working
- Knowledge Management
- Digital dictation (BigHand)
- InterAction CRM
- Mitel VoIP telephony
- Aderant Expert 7.5
