Business Initiation Business Analyst – Permanent – Edinburgh – £45K to £50K

My client, a global giant within the finance sector, is looking to bring an experienced Business Analyst into their team in Edinburgh.

The successful candidate will:

·       Liaise with the BI Manager to produce a standard Project Initiation Document (PID) for those projects on the Pipeline nearing commencement; provide a confirmed starting point for the more detailed scope statement, requirements, timeline expectation, stakeholder matrix, high-level estimate validation, and so on.

·         Ensure the BI Manager has all information necessary regarding any new initiatives such that they can readily be discussed at Pipeline Prioritisation Committee meetings, work with the BI Manager to pre-empt and prepare for likely scenarios and questions that may arise as it relates to the prioritisation of new requests within the active change portfolio.

A strong personality with strong influencing skills is a must for this role.

Essential

·       Broad understanding of different markets, asset classes and instruments typically used within investment banking, such as equities, commodities, FX, bonds, swaps, options etc.

·       Extensive experience in the Securities/Pricing industry (e.g. within a fund manager, brokerage house, custodian, investment bank etc)

·       Demonstrated skills and experience around project requirements gathering with an ability to provide direction/shape for those same projects as needed.

The Ideal candidate will have experience across a broad range of investment banking environments, such as trading, asset management, treasury, prime brokerage and so on, excellent knowledge of Reuters, Bloomberg and other relevant data feeds and be educated to degree level or hold Investment related qualification (e.g. Securities Institute certificate.)
