API application Developer (SOLR) – Permanent - Dundee - up to £40k

PTS’ client, a world leading online technology group are looking to attract a proactive, Web Service Application Developer to develop and enhance new and current systems. SOLR skills are an essential requirement for this role. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a full understanding of the relevant technologies and have experience in their implementation in high-volume, high-availability environments. Applicants should be pro-active and keen to take responsibility for the full-delivery of any assigned functionality and/or task.

Main duties include supporting systems for my clients’ web sites, configuration and operation of Linux software and the extraction, transformation and loading of data from external and internal data sources.

Essential skills:

·         SOLR installation, configuration and extensions

Desired:

·         Linux system administration and configuration (Apache, NGINX, Tomcat, Heartbeat, HA Proxy, Stunnel, Corosync, MySQL, DRBD)

·         Scripting (PERL, Python, PHP)

·         Javascript/jQuery

·         Windows system administration and configuration (IIS, ASP.NET)

·         SMTP
