Senior Cisco Engineer – Unified Comms – Cisco CallManager – VoIP – Manchester – Permanent

Unified Comms Engineer with strong Cisco, VoIP and CallManager experience urgently required to join an established organisation based in Manchester where the main accountabilities will be:

- To provide technical and operational leadership for the team responsible for development, delivery and support of Unified Communications services.
- To set standards and procedures for service provision, helping the ICTS department in its mission to enhance the experience of their community by providing and continuously improving excellent information and communication technology services.

Applicants are required to have the following knowledge and experience:
- Successful management of significant projects leading to delivery of required outcomes.
- Successful management of services to agreed targets.
- Ability to ensure the effective control of expenditure within agreed budgets.
- Ability to maintain collaborative working relations across organisational boundaries.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills so as to be able to influence and persuade people at all levels and to exchange complex technical concepts in a manner appropriate to the audience.
- Ability to analyse complex situations, explore, evaluate and recommend potential solutions, and to foster this ability in the team members.
- Ability to keep up to date with current and emerging technologies, relate them to the needs of the organisation, and explore opportunities with stakeholder groups.
- Ability to balance competing demands and manage expectations, bearing in mind the needs of the customer and strategic priorities.
- Ability to develop annual service and project delivery plans that co-ordinate with those of customer groups.
- Current PBX and IP Telephony Services processes, protocols and technologies
- Current industry standard messaging processes and technologies
- Current mobility services processes and technology
- Up-to-date knowledge of procedural/legislative change and how this relates to area of work
- Able to act as a reliable point of reference for at least one area for others within the service
- Significant experience of successfully developing and supporting ICT services for an organisation of comparable size and complexity.
- Successful experience of providing technical leadership for a team of skilled ICT professionals, instilling a culture of customer service and technical excellence
- A proven track record of innovation in the delivery of ICT services
