Data Centre / IT Operations Senior Consultant – IT Consultancy – London – Perm - £65k-£75k pa circa

PTS is looking to recruit a Senior IT Consultant with solid Data Centre / IT Operations experience gained in a Corporate / Service Provider / Consultancy position. The Consultant will need to be able to demonstrate experience of delivering industry best practice services, and a solid understanding of market and industry trends. The Consultant will support the PTS EMEA Head of Data Centres in the development and Support of a growing Service Stream across the EMEA region. This role may require some International travel to support Sales and the delivery of assignments.

A good understanding of IT technology (Servers, Storage, Networking), along with a knowledge of Industry trends i.e. Virtualisation, Energy Efficient Data Centres, CLOUD Services etc.  An excellent background in the understanding of Data Centre IT Infrastructure builds principles i.e. Cabinet Cooling techniques (Cold Aisle etc.) Cabling systems (Copper / Fibre), Management Systems (BMS, EMS, KVM, ILO etc.) and the physical builds (UPS, Generators, CRACs, Chillers etc.).  Strong awareness of Operational Best Practices for the delivery of Data Centre Operations and Industry Standards and Frameworks (TIA-942, Uptime Institute, ITIL, ISO-27001, ISO 14001 etc.) is essential.

Experience with Support Sales, Pre Sales, Delivery ownership with an ability to identify new Consultancy opportunities to develop proposals and be able to cross sell across all PTS Service Lines.  The expertise to be able demonstrate and provide Data Centre and IT Subject Matter Expertise and promote self and PTS as industry leaders in the marketplace through written articles.

The Consultant needs to have 10 to 15 years’ experience of working in and delivering an IT / Data Centre Operations service for a Corporate or Service Provider organisation, or the delivery of a similar role as a consultant.  Have Industry based training in a Service Management framework (ITIL/CoBit), a sound management experience of managing Teams in the delivery of IT Services and the ability to demonstrate how to manage complex projects (i.e. Prince2/PMP).
