Application Migration Technical/Business Analyst – Investment Bank – London – Contract – Competitive Rates


PTS's client a Leading Investment Bank is URGENTLY looking for an APPLICATION MIGRATION TECHNICAL/BUSINESS ANALYST to assist a high profile, large scale project to migrate from and exit multiple Data Centres.  The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge of typical infrastructure and operating systems that host investment banking applications e.g.: Solaris, Linux, Windows, Sun, HP and be familiar with “re-platforming” applications within that environment.  It is also important that the analyst has an in-depth understanding of server virtualisation technologies.

The relevant experiences required for this opportunity are:
·          Application Migrations
·          Understanding of different platforms and OS types (Solaris, Linux, Windows)
·          Understanding of different migration options (lift and shift, swing, refresh, virtualisation)
·          Application and infrastructure consolidation / rationalisation
·          Producing technical documentation and control
·          Large scale data centre relocation / migration projects
·          Understanding of different storage types incl. SAN, NAS, DAS
·          Understanding of different database types (Oracle, SQL, Sybase predominantly)
·          Understanding of investment banking external connectivity e.g. exchange connectivity / market data services
·          Appreciation of business criticality and usage of applications in an investment banking environment (banking is not essential, but experience of working for a large corporation is beneficial)
